| We have received the first apartment reservations. The Clube Brisamar (formerly known as Quinta Nova) presents itself completely renovated and with a new management. The Dourada apartment condominium is situated not far from the Clube Brisamar, in the direction of Alvor. Three comfortable private apartments with balcony were offered to us there. They are suitable for persons who like to enjoy the silence, and attach importance to good comfort of living. The apartment hotel “Oceano Atlantico” in Portimao offers apartments at a high level. There you will find all amenities of a good hotel (restaurant, bar). |

| 10.03.07 | Portugal has now two more AFF-Instructors |
| Duarte Magno and Jose Pieres passed the Portuguese AFF-Instructor course held by SKYDIVE ALGARVE. The instruction and examination was full on the rules of the DFV e.V. – Congratulation!! Michi Reich initiates the preparation-course together with “Hamster” and the week was stuffed with long hard theoretical lessons and practicing AFF - jumps. With the help of Sascha, Volker and Tobi as “bad Students” and some good Video jumpers, the candidates inhaled the smell of wild life. Sometimes it wasn`t very funny, because “where is the student now” – “how can I catch him in free fall” – or “why didn’t he pull now” – were standard questions. These problems to solve are hard work but the enthusiasm of the potential instructors helped a lot. After two “days-off”, the Psycho-Part started – the real examination! Volker Wesenberg as the official course director for the DFV-Examination course starts easy with the paperwork and a written-test. Then the examination jumps were coming up. Required were good skills and flying abilities. Both of the potentional instructors did exactly what they learnt during the preparation course – bring the exit under control – release the “unpredictable object” named “student”, even when you know that he will rotate immediately – catch him again, put him back on an “arch position”, stop spinning, give no stupid hand signs and – oh no – release him once again, because we are high enough for not hanging on to a stable student. Short break to breathe, then open this fools canopy for him. Now think for yourself - track away and save your life. After that, observe the students canopy ride and try to remember what happened during the skydive. Highlight with “happiness-tears” from Duarte, as he got 4 points for a good skydive. Also Jose had to show everything he learnt. Strong winds held us on the ground and the adrenalin was at full level for the whole day. First thing at night, - buy some beers for the boys to feel better. Next day again, 110% to pass the last jump and this time the result was good enough to pass. “Congratulation“ And every time a hand on student, when it get tight! |

| 28.01.07 | HEAD RUSH |
| The first Head Rush Freefly Festival has come to a successful end with 51 participants taking part and arriving from all over Europe. Skydive Algarve had not expected such an excellent turn out for what was the first event. Every morning, we kicked off with one–o–one dives as a warm up followed by formation-, sitfly- and tracking dives with emphasis placed on good briefings and debriefings. This encouraged a steep learning curve for all participants and allowed everybody to complete more than 30 jumps during the 7 days festival. „Plü“ organized the big VRW-Dives and Täse coached the less experienced jumpers. His camera was always available and he took fantastic photos above the coastline. Boris Nebe organized “Sitfly Dives”, “Indyraces” and took the tube into the blue sky above Alvor Beach. Tim Porter tracked with his group up and down the coastline. The mega highlight of the event was without any doubt a jump onto a tiny island in the harbour area of Alvor, about the size of half a football pitch at low tide. BBQ`s and open fire are prohibited on the main beach, so “Plü”, Täse and Michi Reich together with local friends, organised food, drinks and a big disco powered by a self contained generator. 45 jumpers descended onto this little island as the sun gently disappeared on the horizon. They were greeted with cold drinks, Sangria and juicy steaks – the party began. Pilot Ferenc flew spectacular “low passes” alongside the beach and over the party, as jumpers enjoyed chilling music, drinks and BBQ. An utmost unforgettable evening was enjoyed by all. With such a successful start, “Head Rush” is expected to be a major factor on the future SKYDIVE ALGARVE FreeFlying event calendar. Therefore, be here for “Head Rush 08” |
