A short trip to the Algarve
We went directly to the Aeródromo municipal de Portimão, looking forward to see the changes that had been done during the last weeks. What we did not see was any landing or departing planes. What we did see were trucks and big bulldozers. The city of Portimão has put further investment into a new runway and also renewed our landing area.But now the best information! Our landing area is now twice the size compare to how it was before. Replying to our request, the gate in the fence is going to be moved more to the west. During the conversations with the responsible person, we have shown the importance of using the free field next to the drop zone for our students. The grass has also been cut there, so that it will be possible to land there. (Especially on x- wind conditions) The Ground has also been prepared for us, so that we can drive now with a vehicle to the landing site and pick up our jumpers. With all this, the city of Portimão has shown that we, as skydivers, are welcome at the Aeródromo! Now, you only have to come and visit Skydive Algarve
